The first time is always the hardest

I have ADD, so getting this blog started is proving to be somewhat of a daunting task.

OK, lets see. Why did I start a blog? Well I would like to become a better writer. Maybe someone will enjoy my posts? I will probably just ramble on about Gaming (Video and RPG's), music, and maybe shit I think is funny.

How about a little background. I started DMing for a group of friends and my wife back in Sept of 2010. I had come to the realization that everyday life was taking a toll on getting together with my closest friends. Essentially, I was looking for a reason to hang out with some friends and drink. So I brought up the idea of playing D&D to my wife. I got a good response form her and my group of friends, so I moved in for the kill. I bought some core books, some minis and built a sweet gaming table and stuck it in the garage and we were off.

Since I was (and still am) a fledgling to tabletop RPGs, as were my group, I decided to start off with The Keep on the Shadowfell. I think they enjoyed it for the most part. It went fairly well, even though they all were defeated by Kalarel at the end and subsequently pulled into the portal.

Last week I started a homebrew campaign. But since I felt bad about killing them, I decided to start them in a place between worlds called The Ways (thank you Mr. Jordan). A star shaped room where silence and charity were the edicts of survival. I had them solve a puzzle without the aide of verbal communication or being able to ask one another for a piece of said puzzle. After the puzzle they made their way to a circular room lined with mirrors. They were attacked by five copies of the Ways Caretaker. They defeated the copies, released the trapped Caretaker and discovered that the ways had become corrupted and that was the reason his copies had attacked. And that's where we left off.
